Gates Thermostat for 2004 Facelift TD4

Hi,

Can anyone tell me about the Gates thermostat? I have a 2004 facelift TD4, engine temp is only getting to 1/4 and heater doesn't seem to get at all hot in the cabin. I've checked the thread on the forum but just wanted to be sure I'm getting the right part.

I have thermostat gates on 1.8 petrol and is good

Engine temp still just over a 1/4, ordered one of these today, Gates Thermostat TH01483 £12.29 off ebay, I'll report back when its fitted next week!

I thought the TD4 engine should reach 89 where as the Gates Thermostat TH01483 would be 83 or am I wrong ? I also asked this question on another thread how are most members testing their temp regarding the thermostat and the needle on the dial should it be at 12.00 oclock or at 11.55 on the dial when fully warmed up cheers Arctic2

You can get different temperatures Gates thermostats. Yes, need to chose the one nearest 89C. Best way of telling what the temp is by putting a digital gauge into the OBD port. I use a Scanguage 2.

PS scratch the above just realised they are the ones we used for the inline top hose, if the original one a stopped working and stuck open .

I wouldn't know as I had an original fitted by Terrain Vehicles.
