Esab is one of the best companies out there, I have their welder and plasma cutter but they are very expensive.
If you have Miller or Linclon dealers there, give them a look too. I also have a new Millermatic 211' small, powerful, gas and gasless. Gas is better as in shielding gas.
Best shielding gas is Argo Mix, 75% argon and 25 %?co2. If Argo mix is expensive, you can use pure co2, not as clean a weld as Argo mix but way better than gasless and gives you a deeper penetration when welding thicker steel.
Do not use Argo mix gas regulator for co2, they sell a separate co2 regulator.
Good luck learning, you can be a pretty good welder with practice...mig welding is very forgiving and rewarding.
