A good cavity wax will do as good a job if done properly and maintained and will be cheaper?

I have done this before and find it difficult to prevent it rusting from the inside. The bulkhead needs removing for extensive repairs anyway so thought while I have another one I might as well completely future proof it as it I already have a galv chassis fitted.

I had my Series 2 bulkhead repaired and galvanised by the Birmingham guys. I haven't fitted it yet but it looks well done. They had to do a LOT of work and refabricate a lot of complex parts. It isn't rivet-counter standard but I'm really very pleased with it. I need to get it painted and fitted to my chassis.

They are helpful guys - take your bulkhead along and ask for a quote. They were honest about my front panel and said that it would cost a lot to repair and probably wasn't worth getting them to do it.

That is good to hear you are the first person I have come across with any experience of them. I am not doing a concourse restoration I am just tidying up a working vehicle and trying to future proof it. I will get in touch and get them to look at the two I have a give me quote.
