Hi , I recently bought a 1997 2.5 dse auto. The drivers door was dead electrically as in nothing on it worked except for the ability to central lock the car via the key. Also there was a message stating Fuse 9 failure but surprise it wasnt blown. I did a voltage and continuity test on the wiring from the becm to the door and everything checked out ok ,I could not find any faults. I tested the power supply wires to the door,purple/blue and purple/black. I knew these wires were both 12v supply which they both checked out to be. Then in a moment of clarity I put the key in the ignition and turned the key to the first position and retested the 12v supply wires . The purple/blue tested 12v no problem. The purple/black however was now reading 1v , I rigged up a quick 12v supply to the wire and BINGO ,everything works !!! So there seems to be a fault in the becm but I dont know anything about circuit boards and the like. I fitted a 12v supply to the wire via a switched relay taken from the purple/blue wire. It took a lot of time but I stuck with it and so far its working fine. I would just like to thank cubdeb for his much appreciated help.
