My tailgate won't lock when using my remote, but works fine when hitting the "tit"...sorry, tailgate release button directly...
This leaves my "stuff" in the boot highly susceptible to spontaneously growing legs and diskappearing!
My SuperManC senses tell me that there is likely a break in the wire between the remote "detection" and power-feed to the tailgate telling it to lock.
Can someone please suggest where I start looking?
Cheers!
PS: Then again..I could be COMPLETELY wrong...I have been twice before, so HAPPY to be shown the light by you more knowledgeable lot!

Now I could be wrong here but how that reads to me is the boot still opens on the button when rest of car locked with remote, so do I remember seeing somewhere that the boot locking is linked into the drivers door latch ? of course I could be totally wrong I am old and loosing my marbles ( having owned 2 classics, a p38 and now a l322 not helping), just a thought.

Yes, the boot lock grounds through one of the drivers door latch microswitches for if said switch is faulty the boot will be "unlocked"

Thanks for your input. This makes sense because intermittently, the drivers door ALSO won't lock using remote. I'll strip the door down tomorrow to check all connections.
Many thanks!

Excellent comment! Intermittently, the driver's door won't lock via remote...I have to push the button down, THEN lock car with remote.
I'll strip the door down tomorrow and check all electrical connections.
Many thanks!
