I have recently bought a Discovery and I'm gradually renovating it, I'm doing a full service including changing all fluids, etc. However I'm a bit stuck on the odds and ends:
1. During changing coolant, it says to do a flush. I have a 300TDi engine, I've read posts saying there's no gasket on the thermostat (it will be removed for flushing out the engine) but John Craddock list one - is there one?
2. Cleaning the intercooler - anyone know where to get ICI Genklene or what suitable substitute could be used?
3. The swivel hubs - the previous owner says he regularly topped them up with liquid grease. The Land Rover advice is that they use some kind of new fluid which last for life, so they needn't be touched - should I leave them, use liquid grease, or something else?
