I've been quoted £270 for fuel tank replacement in my 90 from a specialised LR mechanic.

Was planning on doing it myself but just don't have the time in the next few weeks and need it asap.

Sound reasonable? South England prices

I would imagine an hour would be posible for someone set up and reddy to go, but probably more like two on the quote, plus parts, plus vat

Are the tanks about a ton new? I can't remember?

I'd recommend you have a good look at the fuel filler and vent pipes, 'cos I recently had my floor and seatbox out and replaced the round outrigger that the tank sits on. As it was easy enough to look I checked the pipes and mine had a gash and a very worn patch in both of them. For the extra money if they need replacing in future, it'd be worth a look see and maybe get them dne at the same time.

I assume mine were caused by undergrowth/trees etc ...
