Fuel tank removal??

Problem is, I want to put my tank back on so need it off in one piece with no damage. Seems impossible though. It wont frickin budge!!

Front end drops down, there's a bracket, the one with one bolt holding the tank, you need to take that off, its held on with 3 bolts, on mine there was a bolt through the chassis that couldn't been seen easily, my tank was catching on that, took that off and the fight started, it would move backwards and forwards, front moved up and down, seems to come down to brute force and don't forget to take the filler hose off, don't damage that cause they're expensive.

Good luck

I have given up trying to remove it. Gonna have to order a new one and beat this one out with a hammer. I can not get the bloody thing out no matter what I try.

I waxoyled mine before i put it on, i don't recommend it, tank was as slippy as fook lol.
It went on a lot easier than it came off, still had to use a crow bar to lever it up tho.
You'll have to put the small diameter overflow pipe on the tank 1st then in theory with the tank under the motor, push the back of the tank up and back as far as you can, then push it back another inch, then the front should just slide into place (yeh right) I had to use a lever on the front of mine putting a rather large dent in the lip around the middle.
You may have to try several places to slide the tank up, there's several bolts sticking through the chassis, they will foul the tank, its mostly brute force.
the width wasn't really in issue, the tank does seem to wide but it will twist into place once its high enough.

Good luck

Thanks a lot bud. Have had an email saying my new one will be here tomorrow so lets just hope the weather is ok.
