Hello all, first post here

I picked it my first Defender this week. I'm enjoying it but got a shock when I brimmed it with fuel for the first time. I normally just switch off and hold the pump until it clicks. However, no click from the pump, just fuel spilling on the floor.

The tank was replaced about 3 years ago (I have the receipt) so I presume that's fine. I had a good look and found there is a port which is unsealed.

On the right side of the tanks, there are three pipe connector ports: the main filler, the breather (both hoses connected fine), then a slim one further forward. I have nothing connected to this.

What is it for and how do I block it off reliably?

Ps. I took a pic but can't seem to post it from my iPad.

Thanks.

If you have a 110, there is a pipe at the driver's side front top of the tank that has an olive NRC9771 a Nut-tube-female, M12 NRC9770 and a plug NTC1612.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it is a 1995 110 300tdi.

Thank you very much for the part numbers. I couldn't find a drawing with numbers on. I've ordered the,

Any idea what that pipe is for?

Mine isn't. Return to top of tank 2.5nad originally.
I 'think' ...

Been years since Ive been there and memory ain't what it used to be, might be wrong.

Ok, got this one sorted using the parts listed above.

If anyone is doing this, mine was a pain as the tube from the fuel tank is very close to the main chassis rail so it isn't possible to slide the parts on pre-assembled. Also, the fuel tank is painted and the parts are a very tight fit (presumable due to the thickness of paint. Took a bit of persuading with a hammer and drift.

Thank you to those who helped - much appreciated
