I wanted to fit the cable to the sender unit today, but ran in to a bit of an issue.
It should, I reckon, go to this set of junction blocks which are fixed against the entrance to the transmission tunnel.
Problem is, this is my current set up.

From one of my dismantling pictures I've got my 'fuel gauge sender unit' cable connected to the block on the right. This is the picture from 18 months ago.

I'm presuming this picture is right in terms of where the sender unit connects?
The thing is I'll be left with that male connector end (top photo) with the green and purple/white wires, just loose with nothing to connect to.
The only other photo I have is this.

Right at the bottom, in the centre of the picture, you can just see a male connector attached to the bulkhead without a female end attached. I don't know if this was unattached anyway or if I disconnected something before I took the photo. The cable to this connector goes in to the main loom, just below it, and the loom goes in to the chassis rail. I can't find any other female connector in the area to go on it.
It's a 96 300Tdi. If someone could confirm how their connector blocks are set up there I'd appreciate it.

The C114 numbers etc also match up with the connector numbers in the wiring diagram (use ctrll F to find them in the pdf's)

[Clouseau mode = on] Purple/white is for the V8 fuel pump according to the wiring diagram so that connector probably remains disconnected in a diesel [Clouseau mode = off]:cool:

Great detective work! Cheers, Kwakerman, I got bogged down and lost off on pages 52 -53. I hadn't realised there were pictures later on!
I need pictures when there are lots of pretty wires everywhere and header joints all over :)
Thanks, mate. I'm off out to brave the cold again. :)
