Hi on my 96 dse. i have a non return valve between filter and fip. and a bit of clear line before filter. When i turn it off fuel runs back to the tank. Fuel stays between filter and fip either side of the nrv. But from filter in side she runs back to tank. Normal or not? (I dont think so) iv been under and looked through the flap for the intank pump no diesel spills anywhere. Any suggestions or ideas?

Sounds like the fillter is not sealed properly or pipes to fillter housing, some one did mention something about fillter housings cracking but i think that came from a bemmer forum.

Think filters sealed okay. New one about 3week ago. Its drives spot on. aye iv just read about the pipes having o rings on them Il do that tomorrow. Is dosent bubble and creep back its key off and boom its gone haha. I have read also about a non return valve on the intank pump for pre99s? Mine has been changed before so mabye wrong one? But in all honesty wouldnt a non return valve there mask a problem?

A friend of mine had the exact same thing he replaced, In tank pump, injection pump, filter, installed a non return valve... then fitted a new filter head and that sorted it..

Littlewill filter head as in the top casing part with the sensor in it? Was it dear? Il try o rings tomorrow as have a huge box set and its free to do.

Yeah mate he replaced the whole thing (Plastic casing that filter screws into with sensor on) we never managed to prove it had a hole in it but once changed it just stopped doing it.... I think it had a hair line crack somewhere. Cost wise about £10 from a breakers his was new and dont know what he paid for it, sorry :(

Hope that helps you out.

Cheers dude gives something to look at. il take it off later see if i can see owt n replace o rings see if any change if no il get one ordered

Two bolts and two pipes isn't it and the map sensor and the other sensor. Itl measure fuel temp too wont it? Ah well shes old and had a hard life

Tried o rings. New filter. Still running back. Clear Rubber pipe sleeved on pipe before filter and a temporary in line filter then to fip. No run back what so ever. so filter housing is the problem. She'l have to sit till i get a new one cheers everyone
