Hi all,

Newbie here, as you will probably tell from the questions!

Firstly, I need to replace the fuel line which runs from the fuel filter, what's this called?

Secondly, there is a bone shaking vibration which happens between 40-50mph, I can drive through it, but now seems to be getting worse at slightly lower speeds. I took the rear prop shaft off and changed the UJ's, all seems good now. The front one looks newish and seems to be movement in the UJ's. Both still have the balance weights on them. Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Pete

Well, the speed specific vibration sounds rather propshaft like to me. If there's any movement in the joints detectable by hand then you'll probably get vibration. I dunno about the fuel pipe as I have a different model. My parts book has an ESR3118, 'pipe, fuel' (superseded by WJP000220). Is this the one you mean?

Thanks for reply Brown. Yes, that's the fuel pipe. Thanks for part number! I've had the vibration since getting the Landy 2 months ago. I will try driving without front and back props (not at the same time!) And see if I can narrow it down that way. I assume it could either be the front or rear prop causing this, if that's what it is?

I had similar vibrations at 50mph, although not bone shaking and that was a UJ in the front propshaft. Pretty easy to check them.

just had the same vibration problem on mine that had been getting worse at the end of the winter. turned out to be the front prop UJs. removed the front prop and it drove much better. the rear prop has a tiny bit of movement in it that also vibrates a bit but no where near what the front prop was like.

i was lazy as was not paying for the parts, so got a new front prop. the rear is on the list of to-do for next month.

this is what happened going up a gentle hill and changing gear... wow did it make more noises after that broke!

Wow, you don't want to be changing the prop every time the UJs need replacing...I consider them a consumable item!

Thanks for replies everyone. Alpinelandy that looks nasty! Although could have caused some serious damage! I'll check with props off first. How would I check if a wheel is bent? I assume the balancing would need to be checked by a garage?
