just after a yes / no answer basically , even with £30.00 quids derv in the fuel light is on and level is below the red , is this broken wire or earthing issue , or something else entirely.
just after narrowing down the search , thankyou please

the float could be stuck or the sender unit could be on the way out

Could be damaged wiring behind your speedo pod, I had the same issue after man handling some new bulbs into the thin PCB, But if you've not had your clocks out recently its probably your float/sender unit
