Fuel filter location LHD Series III 88 Lightweight Diesel

New to Land Rovers, so learning as I go. Fuel Filter is mounted on the inside portion of the right hand wing, within the engine compartment, adjacent to the generator 24v. Is this the original location ? Somewhat difficult to service. Seems like mounting it to the firewall/bulkhead would have made service very simple. Thanks in advance.

What engine?

I thought they were on the bulkhead, only exception being the 2.0 litre diesel.

FWIW, that’s where mine is on my 1997 Wolf.

The S2 I'm working on 59 diesel the filter is on a bracket at front of engine by water/thermostat...

Yes that is the correct place for the 2litre diesel.

I believe the location of my fuel filter is correct. I located a posting for a 1982 Danish Military, Series III 88, Diesel Lightweight, similar to my truck for sale, on-line. The listing included many photographs, including the engine bay. The filter was mounted precisely where mine is. Not very easy to service, however I will leave it as is for originality.
