Fuel Filter change?

Another question, save me looking ion Haynes.

Is the fuel filter a simple screw off and stick in new one?

fill the new one wiv doozel before screwing it on.

More or less but it's inside the screw off bit an yool get diesel all ovver the shop an yool have to bleed the system afterwards.

So do I need to clamp the fuel line first? I dont want to bleed the system - or is that easy enough to do?

not on me 200TDi yer dunt.
the wholw fing screws off and is replaced (like an oil filter).
so long as yer fill the new one wiv doozel, no bleedin required.
did it only yesterday.

Well I had to bleed mine an it's a cartridge in an ousing on my Td so there.

My fuel filter is just in the front left side, easily grabbed by hand from the top no probs.

Srew off the old one, smear a little diesel around the rubber seals on the new one, screw new one on, undo bleed screw on top off the filter housing, manually pump the fuel lift pump until diesel starts coming out the bleed screw without bubbles and tighten bleed screw.
Doin' it this way will make sure ye're gettin' clean diesel in there

if you fill it with fuel first it'l save doing all that bleeding marlarky

300 tdi shouldnt need bleeding, just fit the new un and prime it with the lift pump. it might tek a bit of cranking to get it to fire but it will work
