Fuel cap not going back on!

Hey Rovers!

I have a freelander TD4 s and after filling up today I was unable to get the fuel cap back on. I think that it has locked in the closed position as I can put the key in and out but I can't turn it to the open position to get it back in!

Has anyone come across this problem? and do you have a solution?

new gas cap. about 30USD. probably less in the UK. The key slot does transfer over with some careful work.

New one anything from £11 to £30


Why would you bother transferring the key slot?

obviously you don't have to transfer the key slot over, but you do need a key slot regardless in order to seal the gas cap. For me, I feel that you might as well have one single key for your entire freelander. But its up to you, I couldn't care less what you do with your car.
