Hello, My 51 Td4 is using loads of fuel at the moment. I dont appear to have any fuel leaks but have a leak from the thermostat housing. Am just wondering if the fbh which continues running for 5 mins after i,ve stopped the car could be the cause and if it will affect the engine if i pull the fuse.
Hoping someone knows and can help.

I,m also after a cheap set of rubber side mouldings new or second hand for a 3 door if anyone can help with that.

Thanks all.....

The FBH doesn't use any fuel after switch off, It's just on a cool down cycle where the combustion air fan and water pump remain on until the casing temperature drops.

You can pull the fuse if you want but the engine will take much longer to reach normal operating temperature and it'll probably use a similar amount of fuel..

It could be that the engine management is in limp mode because of a sensor fault. That causes it to burn fuel. You're engine management warning light isn't on is it? Might be worth getting it plugged into a diagnostic console to see if that shows anything up.
