fuel and temp gauge

hi i have a series 3 and have changed the voltage stabilizer because the temp and fuel gauge stopped working-they still dont work.does anyone have any ideas??

have you got 12v feed to stabilizer ,feed from there to guage ,and do either work when wire to senders is earthed

firstly im no sparky, but i know the gauges were working,and then deteriorated over a progression of time.The two wires connected to the orig stabilizer, i just swapped over to the new stabilizer.
this is random but would the flasher unit,be in anyway connected to this prob? thanks for replying

As said already, easy check, take a wire from earth (body metalwork or the black banana plug socket) and touch the other end on the other connection for each gauge, if the regulator is doing its job the gauges should go to full/hot.
If they dont you may have a duff regulator...just because it is new doesn't mean it works.
