I have just bought a valeo clutch kit with a NSK bearing. The bearing is not central of is out of round.
My experience of bearings is that they should be concentric.
This is what the supplier said
We stock FTC5200 and FTC5200G we’ve sold over 3600 between the 2 versions with 100% quality rating so I am pretty sure that whatever the customers concern, there is nothing to worry about.
It’s worth noting, although a little academic due to the QI rating, that the clutch release bearing assembly does not rotate on the input shaft, so internal to external measurements are not valid, the bearing itself is crimped within a plastic and pressed tin housing and has a radiused face where it contacts the clutch cover which allows it to roll on the fingers of the cover, the only time this rotates is when the clutch pedal is depressed, any ‘out of round’ would not be noticed as the bearing surface can float on the fingers as necessary.
Anyone any experience of this.
