Parts are at SA73 1AZ, Pembrokeshire
At the moment I /cannot/ deliver, as they're stored at the folks'
house. /Vague/ possibility of delivery (at cost) around easter time.

These are as removed from my Series 3 four mnoths ago to make room for
a 2.0 16v Turbo EFi engine and LT77/LT230. They have done ~2000 miles
since then. It would make an excellent upgrade for somebody with a
tired engine and worn out gearbox - who has always fancied an
overdrive! Price is very competitive due to its lcoation. See also the
radiators/panels etc below.

The engine is a 2.25 petrol, with a weber carb. It is complete from teh
fuel tank to the tailpipe - enginek, ancilliaries, wires, fuel lines,
exhaust. It comes with a spare pair of manifolds, spare waterpump. It
was honed and re-ringed a year ago, along with new
seals/bearings/gaskets. I include a cable-throttle setup, plus the
original linkage. The idle jet blocked just before I took it out - so I
would reccommend stripping the carb to clean it all out. I would also
whip the head off and lap in the exhaust valves, because the top speed
has dropped 4mph since it was fitted and I suspect that's due to me
using unleaded. Oil fitler housing leaks - new filter and rubebr seal
should sort that. I will include a bottle of valve-guard lead
replacement jollop with the engine. It is sitting in a geated garage
with 1/2 a pint of EP90 in each bore.

The gearbox is a Series 3 item, with all new bearings, seals, gaskets,
springs. It is sweet, and has the best gearchange I have ever seen in a
Series. The synchros all work, the box is quiet. I have the receipts
for the parts somewhere. What I will say is that the layshaft has a
funyn wear pattern on the reverse cog - so reverse whines more than
normal. This is all that's wrong internally though, and its none the
worse for it. New layshaft is =A340 if it really gets to you.
Externally, it leaks oil from the selector shafts as do they all, but
not enough to have needed topping up ever, just enough to smear the box
and let seeds/insects stick to it. Gearlever is also new. The transfer
box is similarly rebuilt, and comes with a new spring on the yellow
lever, both levers, handbrake drum, handbrake bellcrank.

The overdrive is that rare one - a fairey overdrive unit that is
complete and in EXCEPTIONAL condition. It does not jump out of gear or
whine excessively, uses no oil and always engages. I will say that the
synchromesh on these units is poor - and always was. Double declutching
when downshifting is reccommended, but upshifts are fine without. It
spent its early years behind a 2.25 diesel, and latterly behind a 2.25
petrol - NO V8s or TurboDiesels - hence the good condition. New seals
and gaskets were fitted when the 'box was rebuilt. I am including the
transmission tunnel with the cutout for the lever, and all gatiers.

Clutch had a new centre-plate, and comes with the hard pipework, but
the slave cylidner is missing.

I will also include a full exhaust system (1yr old - still has burnt-on
remains of its sticker!), all engine moutns and stainelss nuts and
bolts, and all the Series spares I have for the engine/gearbox. (almost
a complete gearbox in spares)

I have a video clip of a 25-65mph -coasting runto show how the engine
pulls, the gearbox shifts and the overdrive works, but I can only
upload that when I get a good internet conenction.

I WILL NOT SPLIT THIS - it goes as a set. If you want one part, you buy
the lot then sell the rest. Sorry - I don't have the time to sell
individually. I am asking =A3650 - =A3250 for he overdrive, =A3200 for a
rebuilt series gearbox and transfer box and =A3200 for the engine and
the rest fo the spares. Genuine reason for sale (I'm a petrolhead - and
200bhp was calling). YOU WILL NEED AN ENGINE CRANE. The whole setup is
on a scrap section of chassis which can be wheeled around the garage
and out onto the drive. I want that section of chassis back though - so
you will need to crane the engine/gearboc onto your trailer/vehicle
yourself. Tea and spanners to unbolt it from the chassis or split the
engine/box can be suppliedx

Images are as-removed. No tarting-up has been done - this is a genuine
rebuilt 'drivetrain' from a very nice Series - which had to make way
for more power. :)
