Hi,

I have been having a few problems with my doors freezing shut in this weather. The wife (who keeps nicking my Discovery in the bad weather) has decided to put vaseline on the door seals.

I'm sure I have read somewhere that this can rot them.:scratching_chin:

Is it safe and if not what else could I use?

Thanks

this was covered in thr last few days yu need a silicone vased grease or spray. cockpit spray works well spray on a cloth and wipe seals Vaseline does rot rubber you are correct in that. so stick to the KY Jelly..

My driver's door was frozen shut the other night. Nothing a bit of brute force wouldn't fix. Couldn't even turn the key in the ignition yesterday morning it was froze solid. Had to warm it up with a blowlamp. The fookin thing started though so well happy.

My neighbour's punto door was frozen shut and he tried that - pity he didn't push the door first to crack some of the ice off the door rubbers as the ice was stuck to them better than they were stuck to the car

Breezy drive to work for him :D

I admittidly went out a couple o weeks ago to the frozen Defender, yanked the drivers door open, then tried the passenger one. **** it was solid!! Could I get it to open!! Nearly took the door handle off trying. Went inside to try and force it open, felt a bit stupid when I realised id locked it.
