Hello all.

my front windscreen washer does not seem to be working. checked the fuse in the glove compartment that appears to be fine. is that the only fuse to check. also where is the washer pump located?

its s 2004 Freelander facelift TDI

thanks Jack

If the facelift is the same its behind the bumper on the corner of the car in front of the driver's side wheel.

You may be able to access the electrics for testing through the access panel in the wheel arch.

cheers for that, i will have a look
The access panel in the wheel arch is totally useless if you are trying to access your washer pump. You have to undo some of the screws holding the wheel arch and pull it back. There are two pumps on the bottle, the nearest one is the front washer pump. Before you do this, go into the engine compartment and check the non return valve on the washer hose is clear, it tends to clog with crap from the washer bottle. A good indication if it is the non return valve is if you can hear the motor running when turned on. If washer pump is buggered, it is easily pulled off the bottle and changed.

The pump is the likely fault, and do fail occasionally. It's a pain to get at because the cover panel screws rust up. I going through the wheel arch liner or the lower bumper corner cover panel is the best way to access the pump, better than removing the whole front bumper anyway.

Thanks for the comments folks, much appreciated. i guessed it was the pump if not fuse as there is no noise coming from pump.

Is this the part number i need, DMG100550?
