The front tyres needed replacing after only doing approx 5000 mls, they both wore on the outside edge on my 2002 TD4.Because of this i had the tracking done at the tyre place ,they said it was miles out and adjusted it. Since then the steering feels a bit vague and light and when going round a right hand sweeping bed the car pulls if you accellerate or back off the throttle. It never did this before and always handled well .Anyone got any ideas why its doing this if the tracking is now supposedly ok

Some thing obviously made the tracking miles out and just correcting it isn't enough. There could be worn ball joints or bent steering/suspension parts. If your unsure how and what to check you should get it back to them or another garage and tell them it doesn't feel right or safe.

I know this may be wrong but....
If the fronts are now out of true with the rears will this affect the way it handles?
Could it be that the fronts were tracked to match the rears ,even though they were out according to the book ?
and now they are by the book its all to cock!

When I had new tyres on mine I was concerned about the uneven wear on the fronts but was told that was due to the weight I carry and just a common thing on freelanders. They did however check the tracking at the front and said it was spot on and went on to say that the tracking on freelanders very very rarely goes out and would take an awful lot of a curbing to knock it off. They also said it was a lot harder to re-track them compared to a normal car, so have they done the tracking right? Maybe ask at a 4wd specialist?

Assuming steering/suspension components aren't badly worn and tyre pressures are correct I think you could have a valid point. If the vehicle previously had full 4wheel alignment carried out any change to the front only may cause the vehicle to steer from the rear now.

Or it maybe the tyres themselves ,
I had two fitted on the front of mine and it pulled right
I swopped them side to side and it pulled left.
Thats what you get for buying cheap .(Federal)
Happilly the tyre guy could see the problem and stuck me another tyre on
