Hi folks
we bought a k reg 200 TDI specificaly for caravaning and would like to know what is easiest cheapest way to fit a ball on the front just to shunt the caravan a short distance have search the web and there are a frames available to fit between the chasis rails and also a home made brace kit of the towing eye but have not got welding equipment what would happen if i just bolted it to the bumper and put strenthening packer behind only need to go a few feet twice a year

I had just an ordinary 50mm tow ball bolted directly to my 200tdi's front bumper, put a chunk of steel behind just to reinforce it a bit and no problems at all pushing a caravan about, the only thing wrong was, that it was a tad high. But worked fine. I sold my 200tdi this year and found that on my series 2 td5 there was nowhere to bolt one so had to buy a kit 'cos I missed it so much.

Regards
