Front recovery point for Series Landie

I went for the swivel type in the end, one each side of the bumper. Located close to the bumper mounting point.

Used 6mm plate to beef the bumper a bit and spread the load:

In Zinc primer now will paint it black at some point perhaps - although it does match the sand blasting from the desert on the front :D Sorted! Came very much in handy recovering cars in icy conditions recently:

Looks like it should do the job, but why didn't you just put the spreader plates on the inside of the bumper and just bolt it in place? Just like you would with a rear tow hitch.
 
I don't have a good reason tbh. It just seemed easier doing it on the outside - esp the welding. Why not bolt it in? I have no intention of unbolting it so seems a pointless excercise.
