P38A Front Propshafts for sale on Ebay

My front propshaft has failed, managed to find the problem before it let go. I am looking for a replacement and ebay sellers are saying that they fit all models. I know that is not true so how can I check that I have the correct part if I buy from one of these scrappers?

Charles at cn4x4 on eBay should be able to help. Classic Rides North Wales aren't always right but better than some.

I may have a Hardy-Spicer in the garage if you want to fix the old one.

I am unsure, but I think the front prop is the same on all models.

I wonder why the difference for the diesel auto? The front axle and transfer box location are as far as I can see identical on all??

I seem to recall that the diesel auto has a rubber doughnut and the manual does not have one.

The rear prop for the diesel is certainly different with the rubber coupling. I'm interested as to why the front might be different, I can find no reason.

Is it the shaft that failed or just the UJs? You can get UJs for peanuts and can be easily replaced using basic handtools.
