Front prop choices

Is it feasible to retro fit an earlier disco front prop onto a td5 2?

Ours seems to be eating UJs , plus that daft "hardened cardigan" joint is a real pain to dismantle each time.
This is for a car used mainly for on road towing/family shifting (like many discos, I suspect_).Manual, of course.
I've heard stories of different output flanges etc.
Any thoughts please?

Come on evil he's asking for a better alternate as original ones designed for it are getting eaten up, I'd suggest using a landrover one

its meant to be on a double decardon joint prop……if its getting munched he's either fitting **** part, poor batch ones and not checking or not looking after them with grease!

Yh I noticed that with the one on my 300 tdi because of where it is located there alot of heat which dries out the joint causing it to fatigue and fail I.e blow off down the road like mine did, keep it greased brother
