I have been taking my engine apart to change the front oil seal as this is leaking quite well. i took out the fan the pulleys the belts undone the crank bolt (that was fun) and i just cant get the pulley off. There are 4 small bolts as well as the 41mm Crank bolt. They turn with the pulley so i doubt they need to be taken out but im not 100%. Any experts?

Well, i done it now int i !

I took the 4 bolts out and the answer is no! i didnt need to. Just got a nice man size puller on it and give it some welly. Glad its all off though there is sooo much oil al over my timing belt and pulleys. Going to carry on tomorrow and hopefully have it all back together.

Thanks,
Probably dont make much difference cause the belt has teeth but in theory it could slip i guess! Biggest problem was the amount of oil it leaked. loads came out and mostly on my driveway. The missus dont like that too much.

OH BUGGER!

I put it all back together. started her up and there is smoke everywhere? and its running like an old dog hardly even ticks over. Thing is i lined up the dots on the pulleys and didnt move anything after the belt was taken off. Trouble is i dont know quite what to do now?

In a desperate bid to keep my thread alive!

I had a proper mechanic look at it today, he reckons hell fix it up tomorrow he thinks theres something amiss with my pump. everything seems lined up to me though the flywheel mark "TDC" all the dots to the arrows? dont think ill ever change a timing belt again though.
Bloody thing:mad:
