I know the wiring not that complicated on a series 3 land rover ... However I've been having some trouble with the flashers ... The back ones now work and the front ones don't ... I've sent off for a new flasher unit but I feel it's got to be a bit more than that ... Has anyone got any ideas???

Thanks

If the rears work then the flasher unit is fine.

the age old 'normal' problem is a bad earth... easiest way to check this is to run a wire directly to the negative on the battery to the indicator and see if that solves the problem, if not, if you have a multimeter and can use one its easy to check if the voltage is getting to the indicator housing.

Depending how good /bad the wiring is and how 'original' you want your landie, its often easier just to run a new wire to the lamp units.

Yes, could be wiring to front indicator lamps or the earths from lamps, but check for blown bulbs and corroded sockets too. New lamp units are cheap easy to fit.

Its a perfectly legal form of driving... though when turning left people seem to think you are saying come past me.

Had my head lights pack up as i was driving home along dark country roads at 1am this morning... Not a major problem as the spots were working, but i either had to **** off people coming towards me or 'dissapear' by turning them off. Got it home eventaully though :)
