Evening all, just wondering if anyone has had the same issue I currently have and what they found it was? Mine is an 07 tdv8 and it has a horrible front end knock. You can hear it really badly but not really feel anything in the steering. I have just replaced both control arms on both sides (Delphi) and the ball joints on both sides (Moog) but the knock is still there. I’m going to do both the droplinks and arb bushes but if anyone has experienced this and could point me in the right direction before I keep spending money to rule things out I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Andy.

I bought it about 6 weeks ago with this knock, thinking it’d be the control arms and ball joints. Looks like someone has changed both shock units recently as they are really clean. Possibly Delphi units (I’ll be putting it back up on the ramp tomorrow so I’ll see).

I’ve just been out, put it in off road height and taken pictures of the labels. Near side is Delphi. Off side just says the part number, which part number it replaces and made in uk. Anybody any idea what brand the o/s one is?

I indeed bought two Dunlop struts (back in 2014) and they both were 'knocking' as soon as fitted. It wasn't a horrendous knock, worse in the cold but didn't do it before they were fitted.

Diagnosed eventually (after replacing every damn part of the front suspension) by lifting the hood, pushing down on the front bumper and 'bumping' the front end up and down as hard as you can whilst somebody holds their hand on top of one of the struts. You can feel/ hear the knock through the top mounting.

So, I can report back that it was a drop link. I can’t believe that it made that much of a knock, I would have sworn it was the bottom ball joints and failing that the strut!

We like a nice cheap self diagnosed fix, very satisfying :D
