Front Drive Shaft

I have done a search and there were certainly a few results but none quite hit the mark. In a nutshell how good are Britpart front driveshafts? The car only does about 3000 miles a year (2001 TD4) and finding decent second hand units these days is getting a bit tricky. It's the abs ring that's away. My intention is to try fix up the old one by putting a small weld on the ring and keep it as a spare but put a new one on as the MOT is next week.

It's ironic using the words Britpart and Shaft in the same sentence but it was unavoidable.
