For the small amount of money involved buy new studs and always use brass nuts. If they do snap it is easy to drop the manifold off and do it on the bench. OK no fears for me as I have a milling machine and lathe in my workshop but you will cope.

Ok this has been resolved , for free and in 30 minutes!, the front pipe wasnt faulty , I had made an error which had caused the problem ,
just updating in case anyone else had a similar issue. Recently I replaced the centre bracket on the exhaust , I had actually replaced it upside down so the exhaust literally hung approx 1/3 inch too high and was actually lifting the exhaust into the manifold by approx 1/3 inch , this made it unstable. how now reversed it and its solid , I appreciate all of your comments, Thanks again

It's nice when people post the fixes, it all helps ...

Looking at a new one for mine now. The britpart system has lasted 3 MOTs but will not pass another one. Thinking of stainless but now see they do a standard bore or a two inch one. Any advantages to the big bore on a diesel or are they just for the under 30s with an inferiority complex.

Does the big bore go all the way to the end ? ;)

Depends of which end you inquire. :p
There are many things to cogitate such as aesthetics, back pressure, flow, tone, fracture resistance and the like. Just wondering the level of importance on such options. I realize the manifold will remain a constant as will the exhaust ports and channels betwixt but there must be a reason for the option of a two inch even if it is only nonsense.
