I am just fitting the front repair section to a series 3 lightweight (and contemplating whether I should be replacing the whole chassis with a galvanised one...). I have chopped off the old chassis immediately behind (level with back of) the front cross member. The new chassis section has about 5 inch legs to fit over the chassis behind the cross member. Has anyone fitted one of these as unless I remove the two brake pipe/bump stop brackets then the repair section won't go back far enough? Alternatively I can shorten back the repair sections legs so that about 2 inch overlaps.
