Front Air bags?

Had an issue with my air suspension and the fault has been traced to front O/S air bag leaking.

A few questions.

1. I would have thought it a good idea to replace both sides, just good practice and I’d never replace one normal road spring.

2. Looking on reportable web sites and the actual air bags are not readily available so I am guessing its recommended to replace the complete strut?

3. Maltings, Doncaster Dunlop struts £210. Rimmer Bro’s Lincoln OEM (not original) £258, Ribber Valley £225. Anybody had experience, good or bad of different manufacturers?

4. I remember on my old TD5 being recommended to fit Dunlop bags, good aftermarket manufactured.

Looked on You Tube and it really doesn’t look a difficult job.

I’m quite handy and rebuilt engines etc previously.

· Lift car to max height on suspension.

· Jack slightly so you can get the wheel off

· Release air pressure

· Remove / replace strut

· Start the car and ensure suspension set to high

· Lower car on to its suspension

Is it worth having the tail gate open so the ECU doesn’t allow movement??

Many thanks in advance of the replies
