Front 4 inch speakers 300TDI 110 SW

Hello,
I’ve just brought some new 4 inch speakers for the front, fitted the drivers side ok, then went to fit the passenger side and found a steel tube in the way as the new speakers are slightly deeper than the originals, has anyone got any ideas how to cure the problem ?,I’ve fitted it with only the two top screws for now,

I am entirely sure where abouts you are fitting them are they into the lower dash? If so the passenger side may be catching onthe wiper mechanism. The solution to fit the securely is probabaly going to be a spacer ring to bring the speaker out a little if it is deeper than the original.

That is where mine are both front and back, which is why I am not 100% on the dash fitment. But glad my guess at information helped @Farmie to sort the problem.

Could you give us some pictures of the roof fitting of speakers please ?.

I will try and take some pictures today if I remember. It is simply a case of cutting a hole in the roof lining and fitting some speed fasteners. You then run the cables up the windscreen pillar behind the piece of plastic trim. The bets thing I find with them is they are basically at ear height, so even with a rattling 110 and the noise of a 200tdi they can still be heard.
