hello, i have a 2002 freelander se that i have always loved. it has almost 50,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. two weeks ago the car would not start after i had driven about 15 miles and had been stopped for about five minutes to check my post office box. called my husband to come get me and by the time he arrived, it had started. the starter works ...it just will not engage the motor. this has now happened to me several times and i would really appreciate hearing from anyone as to how i might resolve the problem. my dealership is 135 miles away and if could get the car fixed locally it would be a great help. thanks for any helpful information. my freelander is a 2002 se, gasoline engine, v6 2.5 liter engine.

What are the actual symptoms..clicking? turning over but not firing?
And is it Diesel or Petrol?...
Give a full description of the problems and we can see whats what then.

camshaft sensor springs to mind, its a common one.
Only fails when hot and when left for a few mins, cranks but wont start, any other time it'll start fine.

Hi, my freelander clicks when I try to start it. It never starts in the morning....starts mostly during the(sometimes not,even if warm) it seems to lose bettery power very quickly. I have changed the glowplugs. It often gives a clicking sound when I try to start it.The motor turns two or three times and then the clicking begins. Can you hekp diagnose this problem, I am tired of push starting. Thank you!
