I have a 2003 Freelander with an automatic gearbox. Only running on 2wd at the moment as we put a new (well second hand) transfer box on it a few months back along with new wheel bearings on both sides at the front and haven't got round to re - fitting the drive shaft and VCD. All's been fine except today it's developed a slight roaring noise over around 40mph together with a vibration. It's not massive but is noticable and when you stop it leaves me feeling like I've got pins and needles all over my body! Any suggestions on the possible cause of the vibrations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

V6 petrol or TD4 diesel?
Running 2wd often shows up a failing or soft lower engine tie bar bush. This allows the engine to shift under load, causing the inner tripod bearing to run on a different part of the cup and vibrate.
