Hi,
I have just purchased a 2003 freelander1 td4. I have noticed that I have a vibration that seems to be coming from the rear between 30mph and 45mph, it stops over 45mph until I hit 55/60mph and then I starts again. I have looked underneath and there doesn't seem to be anything loose or perished. Is it a case of tyre balancing as it seems that new tyres have been fitted very recently. The vibration happens at the speeds mentioned wether I'm excellerating or slowing down.
Any ideas

The vibration is caused by the Nicky Clarke hair dryer fan not getting the required amount of airflow. It's quite specific in its airflow demands, hence the 15 mph "window" between 45 and 60 mph. Above or below these speeds, the air stalls over the fan vanes and you get the vibration.

er.. welcome I guess!
HINT - on LZ your first post should be a hello or intro in the introduction section. THEN you go off to the specific Land Rover area - Freelander in your case - and pose your question and/or have a browse through that section to see if the problem has already been addressed. ;)

You might get a lot less banter that way too! :D :D

Might be rear propshaft u/js wearing out...

Thanks for the help but what is the Nicky Clarke hair dryer fan :) and how can you Rectify the problem?

Cheers

Ok thanks for the advice. I will take it on board.

Or.. Open the boot of yer gaylander (will probably fall off) and take out the box of vibrating dildos.

Also look at upgrading yer hair dryer :)

:D

It's a hair dryer - all hair dryers have fans in them to blow the heat out of them ;) :D

Gay... er Freelanders have gained the rep, certainly on LZ that they are hairdresser's cars, hence the flippant reference ;) Also Freelanders are known as Hippos too.
