Hi,
Recently bought a 1999 Diesel Freelander from a dodgie social worker with dodgie reciepts, buts that another story.
The Freelander has a few problems, Ill start with a possible VCU problem, when turning the car on full lock (reverse ans forward) it feels as though I have left the handbrake on.
I jacked up the rear wheel, selected 1st gear, 2' bar on the hub nut, applied constant pressure in a clockwise direction. The wheel will turn but requires quite a lot of pressure and moves rather slow.
Can anyone shine any light on this problem or any other test that I could carry out.
Other problems, knocking at front end over bumps and sometimes turning right. Oil light stays on for a couple of seconds on first start up. Well I wanted something to get my hands dirty with, I think I found it.
Thanks Happy Xmas:beer2:
