Hi Guys im new on here but have a big problem, i bought a v6 freelander a few years ago with suspect head gasket issue.

so march this year it had heads skimmed and pressure tested new head gaskets new stat and pipes new water pump expansion bottle and cap and cam belts new radiator and i renewed all breather hoses and the overflow pipe/hose rad to expansion bottle.
so vaccuum filled with coolant all good ??? NO its still pressurising, after many attempts to bleed the system which appered to be circulating (heater hot) i spoke to a land rover agent who said we dont do head gaskets on the v6 it will be the liners moving, this makes some sense after what i have done to this engine so i bit the bullet and bought another engine, swapping all the new components over had it fitted and guess what ? its still pressurising, so have i bought another lump with the same fault ir is it somthing silly im missing. i have spoke to many mechanics about it and had no positive ideas so any help or suggestions would be really appreciated. thanks in advance. Colin

Hello pal.
Post this on the Freelander forum. Its been covered before, but we've got some V6 geniuses who love to talk about them.
Good luck
Mike

Cheers Mike but i think i have found the problem, the mechanics changed the cam belt plastics because they where melted by the cam pulleys so that speaks volumes.
