This takes me back. I was orff roading in an old school Minivan at the age of 16 long before the hippo has ever been thought of. It had slide shut windows..................... so window cables were never a problem ;)
Note the grass on the door sills. It was great fun!

Im seriously tempted to go for the new generation clubman (actually a mini traveller or countryman but BMW only bought the rights to the clubman name) the figures and spec are impressive:

Payload of 500kg for the diesel version

Roof rack load of 75kg

Claimed extra urban of 78.5mpg for the diesel

175BHP for the cooper S............... Impressive stuff.

The weight figures are similar to the FL1, and going by the way the old school mini handled off road, I think the new one would give our hippos a run for their money.

The rear door is only fitted to the offside of the vehicle So all backseat passengers have to get in and out onto the road. unless you pull up onto the wrong side of the road.
