When was last time you moved caravan, have you checked brakes are not locked on, lift wheel of caravan and make sure it turns freely seams odd car drives okay without caravan if that much of a problem with car you should find it does not go up hill very well

Thanks Ian. That was exactly what I initially thought. First thing I did after unhitching was to jack up the caravan and check the brakes on the caravan. The wheels spun freely, no problem! I'm going to do checks on the hoses on the FL to make sure they've not perished and other checks suggested by the forum. I'll also check to make sure the clutch hasn't slipped just to make sure.

I would go for this as well. The turbo is a variable vane turbo so should pull well at all rev ranges. If the solenoid gets stuck, it will pull well at low revs and not at high revs or vice versa.
These seem to be a fairly common issue on the TD4 and are a fairly cheap fix and well worth looking at first.
