Freelander TD4 lag at 2000 rpm

Hi

My 2003 TD4 Freelander has developed an annoying fault. At 2000 rpm (approx 50 mph) on the motorway there is a slight delay/lag when you accelerate.

The fuel pump (in rear wheel arch) was replace 18 months ago and both the turbo hoses where changed 6 months ago. It was serviced 6 months ago and the crankcase breather was changed

I was wondering could it be an injector issue and should I try running some fuel treatment throught it?

try some millers its supossed to be quite good.

Check your Maf & also the third turbo hose.

I how do I check the MAF and where is the 3rd Turbo Hose?

Maf is easily checked by unplugging it & going for a drive. The ECU will then substitute its default settings & if the car feels a lot better at low revs (<2300rpm) then your maf is faulty. One of the turbo hoses that you have changed will have joined to the intercooler, the third hose joins to the other side of the intercooler (right hand side)

From what has been described it sounds like the MAF sensor to me. It appears to sluggish in all gears at revs lower than 2000ish.

Does any one have a guide on how to remove the MAF?

Thanks for the link to tuning-diesels website. Very informative, will check and disconnect the sensor tomorrow and see what happens, likely will check the EGR valve also, but I am sure that it was cleaned 6 months ago when it was serviced
