Freelander td4 53 fitted new clutch can't get reverse

I have visited landyzone on many occasions over the past 7 years to get tips on keeping my 53 freelander commercial on the road. I now have a problem that I need your amazing knowledge to get me out of a spot.
The clutch thrust bearing seized on a busy roundabout a bit embarrassing, got towed home and then fitted a new clutch and slave cylinder and thrust bearing I must admit not a job for the faint heated,having finished the job went for a drive and it was great I had got the old girl going again. But when I tried to reverse her onto the drive she would not have it . I could hear grating and it took me 15 mins to finally get it in. I have checked all the linkage and can find nothing wrong. I finally disconnected the linkage and manually selected reverse still the same grating. Any ideas would be very gratefully received Fred

Try the freelander section, they'll sort it
