Hi,
Yes another tailgate problem, to add to the others.
Had to change the cables again. Last time I fixed it it worked fine. Done it with bike cables, just the end connection came loose.
So fixed it again, and finished the ends with double screws to hold the strain. But the tailgate now acts as if there is slack on the cables. It works, but only a bit, then beeps and stops. Can keep pressing the switch to get window up-and-down, but when opening from the back the window does not drop. One thing handy though, can now drive with back window half down, which is impossible with fully working unit.
The unit acted like this the first time I fixed it, but the problem was then that I forgot to put in the 4 pins to "span" the spring on the one end.
So I think there is slack in the cables. The only thing that puzzles me is that the only cable never to be changed was the one that connects both window clamps with each other . That means the other cables got to be the right lengths, when I struggle get the other cables around their wheels !?
Taken the whole thing out twice, but can not see a problem. All fine around the wheels, and nicely wound inside the motor. Cables feel tight as well. Even took battery positive off to "reset" system, but nothing changed.
Any suggestions ?
Regards,
FD
