Hi, i posted a thread a few weeks ago about removing the big clumsy back box from my freelanders exhaust as it has taken a bit of a battering seen as it catchs on everything!! Thanks again for all the responce to that question. As most people said the car runs fine with out it. Now i've completed my little side exit exhaust project i thought i'd let people see (as promised, hehe). Here's a link to my pic's with a few photos of it.

Also, no one was quite sure how it would sound... well, it sounds fine, not really any louder at all. The piece of pipe and the tail trim was made up by ETS tyres in nottingham, chap called michael was very helpful. cost me £70 which is alot for a bent piece of metal tube but considering i couldn't have made it my-self was more than happy with that price.

Cheer's again to everyone who helped and advised me.

Looks very tidy. :) A little more clearance might help prevent it melting the plastics.

A Cat bypass tube now should give useful performance boost. You may get some flak from pedestrians re the exhaust blasting from the nearside.

Yep, it is the brown church roofrack. had to modify it slightly to get the spot lights on, unfortunatly there still a bit useless because you get so much glare off the windscreen when there on. Look cool though. hehe ;) .

Not to sure about the MOT in belgium, or the UK for that matter. lol. i'll let you know in a few months if it fails for it (UK MOT that is), i've kept the old back box so i guess that could go back on for the MOT if it must. we'll see  ??

Also, yer, must admit i think i should have done the hole a little bigger, looked fine till i put the edgeing strip round the hole to finish it off, now it does seem worryingly close to the plastic triming. If it helps anyone who fancys trying something simular - the exhaust tail trim is 70mm in dia, i drilled the hole 85mm, but think it would have been better about 95mm, espicially if your gonna put some edgeing strip round?

And yer, as for the freelander in the trees, yep, it went there all by its self! lol!! well, truth is, that happened when i got a bit cocky and tried to drive acoss a slopeing, very muddy field with road tyres after heavy rainfall. guess i shouldn't have tried followed my mate in his defender with MT tyres, but i was thankful he was there to tow me out again.

yer, cat bypass could be a good plan, believe that'll be an MOT failer though won't it? should think i could definatly upset some pedistrians with it though, although it doesn't smoke to bad (yet. lol)

Don't seem to see de-cat pipes available for TD4s for some reason so it would need to be made up. As far as i know it won't matter for MOT, it's a fairly simple emissions test for diesels at the mo. Might change in future though.
