Freelander Rough Idle

Hi, Not a big deal at the moment but wondered if anyone can guide me as to where to start with a small rough idle issue happens when cold or warm & rev counter moves only 1 to 2mm up & down & a small vibration wich maybe from normal engine or something else

Where is best to start??/

What engine? Petrol versions with a plastic throttle body can have lumpy idle and 'sticking' problems. I think that folk on here generally recommend changing it for an alloy version. Hope this helps. Russ

check your air filter isn't clogged up.
when was you timing belt last done?
Could also be an injector issue or a vaccuum leak at the throttle body or inlet manifold.
