Hi all
Urgent help needed.
I have put a small deposit on a Freelander 2 HST but have since read on the internet that it has stiffened suspension and larger wheels which will also compromise the ride. Above all I want ride comfort which for me means soft suspension. Any views, please? Thanks

not sure about the freelander 2. i have a freelander 1 sport, being a sport model, the suspension is harder for better handling.

depends if yours is just a standard model or sport.

i thought mine was hard at first but i soon got used to it, love to throw it about now, couldnt with the standard model, very bouncy otherwise.

good luck :D

My standard freelander 1 isn't very bouncy & handles quite nicely for a 4x4.

I know someone who ran two HST's on his company's fleet and absolutely loved them, apart from the ride quality! They'd had Freelander 1's before, but the Freelander 2 HST's were not a success solely because of the hard ride. They've since been replaced by RR Sports and they're happy again!

I do not see the point in sport 4x4's. Surely it defeats the object? The Freelander has very limited articulation as it is...

I drove an M spec (sport pack) BMW 325 once. Felt every single bump in the road and had to avoid potholes like the plague. Tbh, I'd rather have to take each corner 5-10mph slower instead than have to endure that all the time.
