Hi all, Im changing my friends rear shoes on a 2004/5 freelander tomorrow,do you know if its an easy job? any tips? photos would be much appreciated.
Chris.

cant see it being that hard dont hit it with a hammer remember its a freelander not a disco or a series

i would not say so drums are drums at the end of the day cant see them being that hard to do just go steady with it you should not have a problem

Just done mine. Bit of a pain to get drums off, shoes have bedded into drum. This leaves a groove which catches on the shoes as you try to get the drum off. I ground the groove off before putting drum back on. This helped during re assembly. Also, shoes are a bit tricky to adjust for the gap between shoe and drum. Patience is the answer. Hope this helps.

Its got an auto adjust system, if you find that ya cannot get your drum orft [making sure your h/bake is off] then there is a blanking grommet at the back of the brakes and after taking out the grommet ya get a screw driver and turn a knurled ratchet thingy, trouble is its hit and miss as to what way , however the object is to undo the auto adjust so enabling ya to get the drum orft , once past that bit it's just didley doo . . .

Tip earthling . . . when ya put your drum back, set your auto adjust thingy to min [will pay you to spray it with wd40 and free it up ] making sure ya do not spay your new drums, fit it all back together , then just pump your brake pedal bout ten times this should auto adjust it , then check your h/brake is not binding, if it is adjust h/brake,and dont forget to put that grommet back ... ... ...:)
