Hi Guys, further to all my last posts I have finally got my FL 1 Td4 2006 Facelift on the road and smoke free.
I didn't get a definitive answer as to what the cause of smoke at 2300 rpm was but after adding a seal reconditioner to my oil and fitting a new exhaust back box and driving it I finally have a freelander to love I'm buzzing.
One small thing to sort out is the park sensors, the button lights up and flashes when reverse is selected but no sound, I wondered whether the fitting of a tow bar by the previous owner had altered something so as not to cause annoyance when a caravan is connected ?
What is the link with the radio as some posts on here say changing a head unit causes sound loss, I presume its the original but I would like pointing in the right direction if possible. Thanks in advance of reply, Alan.

The button is there so you can turn them off when reversing with a trailer/caravan/bike rack etc so not sure what is going on there. IIRC if the light on the button flashes if there is a fault, possibly with a sensor but I'm not sure. Someone more knowledgeable will no doubt be along soon.
